Benny shook his head. "Nope, totally true. Want to see proof? I got a scar where she cursed me." He moved as if he was about to roll up his sleeve.

Ben stood up to get a better view.
"Ah, don't put stories in that boy's head." Ben commented.

When he was close enough, Benny instead made a little joking roar and held up his hands. He smiled at Ben innocently. "Oh, it is quite the truth. It just depends on your definition of a witch. I think of a witch as a terrible woman who hates children."

Bram sat back.
"Fair enough. Sorry to hear that." Ben said.
"Can I hear more about the witch?" Bram asked

Ben nodded then looked to Bram. "Well.. I don't think you should hear too much, it is very scary. But I suppose a little bit. The witch lived in a huge house, enough for probably ten families. But it was so cold and it felt like there was never anyone else but the witch and her wicked little boy who was so selfish and he didn't like to bathe or obey the witch."

"He must have been really smelly."
Anne rolled her eyes.

"The worst." Benny held his nose to emphasize it. "And he would get so angry sometimes he'd just grunt and yell, and the witch would laugh. The witch loved to say mean things to children, just to make them cry. She was extra harsh to me because I was trapped in her home and couldn't run away like the other children. She would pull my hair when she combed it, and she would yell even louder if someone were to cry. She hated crying children, if her own son cried she would coddle him and do anything to get him to stop."

"She sounds mean." Bram said.
Will commented: "It's just a story."
"Aye, and I think that's enough stories for now." Ben said.

"She was the absolute worst. I never met a worse witch." Benny looked towards them and nodded. "I don't think most of my other stories would be appropriate." He ruffled Bram's head. "If you ever meet a witch, just run."

"There ain't really witches though." Bram said.
