Gabriel was desperate to stop Elijah from leaving. But he handled the situation the same way he handled most challenges in life. He did absolutely nothing and watched the man go.
Elijah couldn't help but look back once more. He looked at his face as if memorizing it, because he didn't think he'd see it so close and in such a private space again. "Take care of yourself..father. Thanks for the talk..."
Elijah looked surprised. "You really.. don't care.. what I admitted to you at all do you?" He smiled warmly. "Thank you.. for being so much better than me."
He smiled a sad smile. He was no better, and he wished he could say it. "You're a good person, Mr. Crane. And I enjoy your company." Did he just say that out loud?!
