Will shrugged. "Noah Longbottom, probably, if no one else takes pity on her."
"Will you shut up?!" Alice shouted at him.
"Yeah, shut up, Will!" Bram added.
"You shut up, or I tell father you broke that cup!" Will shouted at his little brother.

Elijah shook his head and put a hand to his head. "How can you kids fight so much. You almost lost your sisters and this is how you are treating them. " He said and closed his eyes breathing deeply. "I will return when you kids can learn to behave. "

He almost turned but looked back. "Alice isn't marrying Noah. She deserves better."  He opened the door to leave.

"Alice is ruining everything!" Will shouted in defense. Alice cringed under his word.
"Shut up, you little twit!" Anne shouted at him.
"I'll tell father you said that!"

"Can I come?" Bram whispered to Elijah.

Elijah shook his head and grabbed Bram's hand. "We are going to my house for tea. Only those who agree not to fight it argue may come." He opened the door and walked out with Bram. He wouldn't take it anymore.

Bram walked off with Elijah, happy he was away from his siblings. "Can I sleep at your place again?" he asked the constable.

Elijah looked surprised. "I guess, but we need to come back so you can get anything you might need and I will have to tell Ben. I don't want him worrying over another."

"Okay..." The boy said.

Just then, Ben came walking in their direction. "Elijah. Good to see you." But his voice didn't match the statement. He sounded and looked tired. He looked at Bram. "You better come back with me, Bram. We've disturbed Elijah enough."

Elijah waved at him. "You should be sleeping, you're still weak" He stopped walking to talk to him. "Bram is coming to my house for tea. There is far too much at your house going on right now." He looked curious, "Where did you go anyway?"

Ben shook his head wearily. "I needed some fresh air. Thank you for taking him..."
"Can I spend the night at Elijah's too?" Bram asked.
"Don't push it." Ben said.

Elijah shrugged, "I don't mind as long as he promises to go to school, unless you still need him helping out at work? I like having company over, the place is so quiet without people." He smiled.
