Bram smiled. "I miss you!" He hugged him again.

Elijah sniffed and smiled as he hugged him, starting to cry again. "I missed you too. I missed everyone, even though I know they don't want to see me. I'm so happy you will speak to me, Bram. You're an amazing, kid."

Bram looked at him surprised. He had never seen a grown man cry. "I don't understand it." he complained.

"I upset your dad and Simon. I think I hurt Rose a little too, because I was doing my job and it got them involved. It's ok, it's a bit complicated. I understand why they are mad, but I do miss them so much."

Bram frowned. "Father and Simon are angry a lot...." he said. "But when Rose is angry with you, you just gotta make her laugh and she can't stay angry!"

Elijah smiled sadly. "Yeah but they aren't supposed to be speaking to me. I can't force them to talk to me. It would only make them angrier, I just.. have to hope they change their minds soon. Are they all doing ok?"

"Aye... but everyone seems upset and scared..." Bram said. "But I still like you."

"I hope they return to how they used to be.." Elijah sighed and hugged Bram once more. "I like you too. Always will, Bram. Don't forget about it. Long as you keep being the good kid I know you are inside."

"Maybe one day you can adopt me." Bram said.

Well, it could never hurt to plan ahead.

Elijah laughed softly. "While I would love to have you as my son, I'm quite certain it would break your father's heart."
