John rolled his eyes "christ kate. They just took two bullets out and sewed me shut! Take it easy." John winced in pain before falling to the ground landing on his injured arm and wincing
Kate slowed down a little. Then when she heard a stumble, she turned around and ran back as soon as she saw her brother on the ground. "John! Are you alright?"
John nodded. "I'll be alright just give me a second" he winced once more before getting to his feet "the bullet took part of the muscle in my leg. That's the first time it's caused me to fall" he nodded ahead "come on let's make it to the bay and we can rest with some food. What do you say?"

Kate felt rather guilty when she watched him wince. She tried to help him get up. "It's too far with you in that state, John. We've barely started. Ye'll make it worse. Let's stay 'ere and go back to Whitby when school is out."
John reached into his pocket and took out something before popping it in his mouth and swallowing it quickly. He took a drink from the bottle in his pocket and the returning his attention to kate "we walk there and get the train back. It's only another hour to walk there. I can manage that. Come on let's get going and get some food."
John looked at Kate and sighed "the doctors said it would take months for me to fully heal. I can walk just fine. What you've just seen is a muscle spasm. Nothing serious. It's part of the healing. The muscles need to heal. The Tablet is an opiod painkiller to help. Mainly for my arm as it clipped a nerve" he looked meaningfully at kate "not a word about it to anyone ok? Mum doesn't need to know as she will worry even more"
John nodded "it can be if taken for medicinal purposes. Not how I'm having to take them. I wont be on them long enough to get addicted" he sighed "another week with them and I'm done"
Kate looked at her brother suspiciously, but decided not to argue. "Alright. Are you sure about Robin Hood's Bay though? There's an awful lot of ups and downs along t' way."
