Hearing a knock, Elijah jumped up and answered. He was very hopeful but paused looking confused after letting in the person he didn't recognize. "Ah.. H-hello I'm Constable Crane. You're here to see about the job?" Elijah let them in and offered a seat. "Would you like some tea?" He grabbed some papers so he could fill it out but handed out one sheet and a pen. "You know how to read and write?" Of course a few could have just heard about it and be unable to. He wouldn't let that be a definite no, but it certainly was preferred they were someone capable.
