He had sent a letter in hopes of being granted permission to get assistance. Unfortunately, there seemed to be no one in nearby towns to transfer so he would have to get someone new and train them in hopes that it would do until a man with real training could come, if one ever did. After the attack at the bar, he had wanted help in case he was truly ever out of commission, plus it would be nice if he could have more time at home without someone pounding on his door.
He had told his priest and the preacher in town hoping perhaps they could help spread the word, especially to anyone of good morals who could do the job. He wouldn't forgive himself if he'd hired someone who took advantage of others with their position. Elijah started to wonder if anyone would even come for the job.
He sat at his desk and focused on his paperwork as it seemed he had nothing else to do for the moment.
