She liked the excuse to be able to see him as well but he probably wouldn't be aware of that until the lass was ready to tell him. So she agreed to go with him to market, "Alright, let's go after I finish this pie, the coals are nearly out anyway." She smiled and then would turn away from him to finish cleaning up the mess she had made, not asking him for anything but company in the meantime...

Later, after the pie was being cooled, she was ready to go. She said, "There, that should do it." That pie could cool in transit if he decided to take them at that moment. She'd be glad to pack them up ig he chose to.
