"Actually, it does. I've always been with the folks and our property. So, I can't say I have experienced a lot of traveling until we crossed the ocean. Moving to London was huge for me, but we made it home, even though my family and life had always been an ocean and miles away. Then it wasn't." He paused. "I just couldn't stay there any longer."
He looked at Karen and then quickly ducked down to pick up the spoon Heidi had dropped on the floor and given it back to the little hands. "Now, this will be her home. A foundation." He had found a routine for himself, and worked hard to push back the sadness that took over, or spent time with his little girl. At her comment, he nodded. "I'll let them know to give you more time to settle in before more than asking to hire you on the laundry. You are in mourning. They will understand that." He reasoned it would be a good enough reason as he took another bite.
