In all reality, Olivia wasn't much smarter, either. What she'd forgotten was that she'd burnt the photo when she'd encountered her brother in her closet one day. That was, in fact, the reason she had a description written down in the first place. She couldn't exactly fix what she'd done, but Roderick was probably right: Olivia needed help. On more than one level, it seemed.

She swayed for a moment, blinking a few times and looking toward the exit as if it were a long lost lover, then toward her feet as if they were made of cement. She didn't want to fall or make a fool of herself--though it was quite too late for that, given the reputation she was quickly earning herself through her fondness of drink. The socialite sighed and turned back toward Anthony, offering him a slight frown.

"It's dark outside, isn't it?" she asked, knowing full well the answer that would come. It was past dinnertime, and she'd once again missed the meal bell, choosing instead to fill her belly with liquor. Olivia didn't like the dark much. Especially when she was drunk and couldn't walk. Not being able to see well hardly made the trek home anymore pleasant.

"By the way, sir. Do you have a name?" Of course, he had a name, she chided herself a moment later and blushed with embarrassment. A soft sigh left her lips and she made her way toward the pub's exit, stumbling now and then when the toe of her heeled boot caught on the floor. Walking outside proved no better.

Anthony watched with disinterest as Olivia swayed and looked around like a fool, and then back at him as if he's supposed to do something about this. "It is, ma'am," Anthony responded to her question, standing up as well and pulling his gloves back onto his hands. Despite feeling slightly irritated, he was still a pretty nice man and willing to bear all these questions and the trek to her home if so needed.

Anthony gently guided her with his hand, as to not let her fall or make an idiot of herself or anything like that, really. All those things that nobles are concerned about for some reason—not to say that he isn't concerned about those things as well, but definitely to a lesser extent.. (Maybe he should let her make a fool of herself, though. It'd be funny.)

With that thought, then, Anthony did nothing to help the poor woman when she tripped on...the floor? He's almost impressed. "Yes," he answered Olivia's question, perhaps rather vaguely, but it's not as if he was being asked what exactly his name was. Just whether or not he had a name. Once they had made their way outside, Anthony already started cursing his empathy, unsure of whether he can handle a whole trek like this.

Olivia should have picked up on Anthony's discomfort by now, and was it in the past, she likely would have. The sad truth of the matter was this: Olivia was awfully self-centered. All anyone had to do was tune in to any of her conversations with Pearl to see that. Or simply let her run her mouth. She'd prove it in due time if given the chance.

When the cool night air hit their faces, it was oddly sobering and Olivia blinked a time or two before her arms curled around her body tightly in an effort to garner more warmth. Anthony's vague answer escaped her notice, for it was as if she'd forgotten a moment later having even asked such a question.

"I'm sorry," she slurred, and her head turned slightly to regard the man that was, albeit unwillingly, helping her home. "You can me Olivia. Or you can tell me to shut up. I can make it the rest of the way on my own." She did so often, after all.

Though Anthony did, in fact, pity the woman and was concerned for her safety, he quickly began to realize that he doesn't like her very much. Maybe it was just the whole 'drunk out of your mind' thing she was doing right now, but he didn't eally care for it or her very much, really. Regardless, though, his empathy and curiosity overpowered this small distaste for her, and so he kept helping the poor woman to her home.

Anthony glanced to the side to look at her as she spoke again, simultaneously curious and disinterested. That curiosity turned into confusion rather quickly. Wasn't she supposed to....show him a picture of her fiancé? Or something? "I—what? Okay." He didn't protest at all. Maybe he just misunderstood what Olivia said before very much. Or maybe she was so drunk she had forgotten that she had even said that.

Truthfully, he didn't really mind having escorted this woman to her home for no reason whatsoever, though. It was mostly just the confusion and curiosity that was bothering him at this point. Yeah, if he's a good man then he'll just let her be without anything more said or done by him, but that wouldn't be satisfying enough for him. And, to be very honest, he also kind of wants to get into her home just to steal something from it. Bound to be at least something worthy of grabbing, there.

Anthony wasn't wrong to assume that Olivia had simply imbibed too much to remember anything of any importance--in fact, he was very much right in that regard. Olivia often forgot a lot of things, such as the fact she'd burnt the photo. Her bad habit was an escape from the reality of the world she was currently living in--a reality that would soon change, but she didn't know that. How could she?

The socialite said nothing more, continuing to walk along with or without his accompaniment, until the moment they reached the Carrington household or he chose to take his own route. Regardless of which came first, Olivia would turn to look at him, far more sober than she had been when they'd left the pub. Her eyes were red with the tears she'd spent, her nose crimsoned by the cold air. The woman reached into the folds of her gown, withdrawing a sovereign which she held out to him.

"For putting up with me," the woman said after a few moments, and her tone was remarkably dour. Few put up with her, especially that long, outside of her own family. She shifted her weight from one foot to the other as she looked past him, in the direction from which they'd come. "Would you like a cup of tea before you head back on your way? I'd hate to put myself under further ill repute because I failed to offer you at least a hot drink before sending you on your way."
