Francis shrugged as he relaxed back in the chair. "If people were generous and open minded. I suppose the world would be a better place over all. But that's for fairy tales."

"We can do our bit to build that world." Gabriel said.

Francis shrugged. "I would love to do more but I have nothing as it is."

"Money's not all." Gabriel said. An easy statement for someone with a meal every night and a fireplace. "There's kindness, and mercy, love."

Francis smirked and rose a brow. "No one cares what I think, and I can only do so much kindness. If I tried to help a frail old lady walk, she'd probably hit me thinking I was going to rob her. But I get what you're saying. "

Gabriel smiled sadly. "I suppose that's a difficulty..."

Francis shrugged and smiled. "It can all start with one, right? I made you a promise I won't steal. I'm sure that saves someone in the long run. Looking at the silver lining right?"

Gabriel gave him a more genuine smile now. "I'm glad to hear that."

Francis looked uncaring though it was nice to see someone not treating him like scum. "Hey, you're being nice to me. I figure I'll give it a try. Least I can do for you."

Just then Mrs. Dawson came in, carrying a plate of stew and tomatoes and putting it down in front of Francis. She left without a word. "Thank you, Mrs. Dawson." Gabe called after her sheepishly.
