Tobias turned the horse and cart around, which wasn't easy in the street the were in. Though it was a wealthier area with fewer, grander houses, spaced out, there was pavement, and the cart bumped as they moved over it in the turning. But Tobias drove them back into town. "Okay, which way?" At this rate, he was going to be back by midnight. He hated traveling across the moors in the dark, and he hated returning late anyway, since he had to get up early again in the morning. He hated his life.

Anthony looked around. He genuinely had almost no idea where to go. He didn't really come to this side of town....ever. "Um, well," he mumbled, trying to think. "to the...left, I think. To the left." He gestured with his hand to the way he thought they should be going.

Tobias could not entirely suppress a groan when it became clear that Anthony didn't really know where to go either. He had half a mind to go back to the Wards - at least by now he was able to find their yard - and ask Ben to take the man to the doctor and give him the money. But he knew Ben had work to do as well, and so Tobias just turned left and they moved along the street slowly.

Anthony was well aware that the man was annoyed, and this time he didn't really gain any pleasure from that knowledge. "Y.....eah. That's the way to go." He nodded as Tobias turned left. It probably wasn't the right way.

Tobias moved the cart along the street and looked around for any sign that indicated a doctor's office. Then he came along a street he recognized as leading to the Wards' yard and he suddenly turned into it. He could at least ask for directions, if this guy didn't know where they were.
Perhaps after seeing the doctor, he could drop Anthony off at a lunatic asylum.

Alright, they were back in a more familiar place, so that was good. Anthony calmed down a little bit. And then Tobias just turned away. Anthony frowned, but was still fairly apathetic about it, until he recognized the place they were at now. "Hey, wait, where are you going, now?" he laughed awkwardly.

"I have... family" that was what they were now, Tobias remembered, "living down this street. They'll know where to find the doctor's." Since you don't know, he added in thought, though he didn't say it.

Anthony was praying that the 'family' wasn't who he thought it would be. "Oh..." he nodded slowly. "well, that's...good, then." He fidgeted nervously.

Tobias stopped in front of the yard where the Wards lived, because he could not drive the cart into the narrow yard itself. The area was poorly maintained and the many stairs and doors, both in this yard and the yard on the other side, suggested overcrowding. There were two shared privies in the yard, but it was unclear whether the rather unpleasant smell of the area came from there, or whether it was from old bait on long lines and in crab pots that were drying in the yard, or just from general filthiness. And still there were barefooted children playing in the yard and apparently having a great time. And there was laundry drying as if the air was fresh as daisies. It had been a shock for Tobias when he had first visited. He had seen a good deal of rural poverty, but there was something even more dehumanizing about its urban sibling.
"One second," said Tobias, and he jumped down from the cart.

But neither of them had to wait for long, for Ben stood smoking in the yard, and came to the entrance when he heard the cart. "Tobias! I would have expected you to be halfway home by now." His eyes landed on Anthony and narrowed with suspicion. "Is there a problem?" he asked Tobias, but his eyes remained on Anthony.
