Anthony didn't know when to put a joke to rest, sadly. "You're a really nice guy too, though. You bought me drinks. And food. Maybe I should grovel at your feet instead."

"Errr... lets do no groveling at all, okay?" How uncomfortable could this get?

"Nahhhhh. You deserve it."

That uncomfortable. "Well you helped me, so we're even."

"Maybe. But I think you helped me more, because I could've probably starved to death and died miserably if you hadn't bought me that food." Not really.

Tobias frowned. "Were you that hungry?"

No. "Yeah."

Tobias turned to him, now looking genuinely concerned. Was that why Elijah was looking after him? Perhaps he couldn't get a job because he was so weird and he was struggling to eat every day. "Look..." he found his purse and took out some money, enough for another meal, and he handed it to Anthony. "There's for your next meal..." Drink, more likely, but Tobias had no idea.

Anthony was pleasantly surprised by the money. "Oh. Thank you," he said. Maybe he should lie more, since it works so well at getting him what he wants. "you're a real kind man."

"You're welcome," he said, and he began to walk again. He did really want to be left alone.
