Elijah nodded, "And he was very kind to me during my time in York, a good friend. It will be nice to have someone else to talk to. I only hope he can make it. While I've written to him, our letters have always been very brief. He could be married with children now."

"If he could combine it, so could you..." Ben muttered almost inaudibly. He took his cup and drank some tea. "I'd be delighted to meet your friend." he added louder.

Little did he know.

Elijah looked curious at the comment but he didn't hear it clearly so he didn't worry. He sipped his tea and nodded. "Oh yes, you will like him. He was very good with others and a far better constable than I" since he was able to continue working in York.

"Well, sounds like the town could use him. And you'd have a friend by your side...." A small frown appeared on his face.

Elijah nodded happily but then noticed the frown. "Ben? W.. what's wrong?"

Ben snapped out of it and shook his head. "Nothing. I'll be glad ye might be able to rekindle a friendship."

Elijah was curious but let it go. "Oh yes, he helped me a lot when I was at school for this. He always said I was too soft too, I guess he was right." He laughed a little as he drank his tea.

"I'm sure you'll make a fine balance," Ben said, his mind wandering.

Elijah nodded. "Oh yes, I think so. He was very much a stickler for the rules and wasn't easy on people like me. I think he'll be perfect for Whitby..' He seemed in thought and smiled. "I shall send Wesley a note as soon as I head home."

Ben nodded. "I'm glad for ye."
