"Is that why you put Noah in jail? Because he steals to bring me food?" the child asked.

Elijah shook his head and sighed. "I put him in jail because he gets into bar fights or tries to run off without paying."

"Yeah..." said James, finishing his food. "He is a bit of a moron."

Elijah chuckled softly. " I think he has had bad influences in his life."

"Yeah..." said James, wondering who those bad influences might be. "I think it's the Wards."

Elijah rose his brow. "N-no, that's not who I meant. I am sure there are worse people in his life."

"Really?" he thought. "You?"

Elijah rose his brow and stared down at James. "You think I'm a bad person?"

"No, but if the Wards aren't a bad influence, it must be you..." He frowned. "Or is it t' other fishermen?"

Elijah shook his head. "I think.. you don't know what I mean by influences. The ones who influence your family are people they are close to and hang around. People they work with, other family, friends. That sort of thing. Not people they dislike, since they wouldn't let those people guide their actions and personality."
