RE: Business to settle - Anthony Rowe - 06-06-2020

Anthony had reached the point where he could almost even make out what they were saying. That was good, at least. Too bad that Anthony didn't really care about what they had to say. He glanced at the other man as he sat down next to him, and handed him a cup and pills. Anthony just downed the pills without much thinking at all, just eager to get this all over with.

Now that the medicine was done and over with, he figured that now he can sleep. Anthony rest his head against Gabriel's shoulder, much too tired to care about them being mortal enemies and all that. It was comfortable and that was what mattered.

Gabriel looked at the man very uncomfortably, when he rested his head on his shoulder. "Erm… Here." He helped the man lay down on the sofa again. He got up, fetched a blanket and draped it over him. "I'll check on you in an hour or two, but you can sleep now..."

Anthony frowned when the man moved away and helped him lay down instead, but he didn't dwell on it for too long. The sofa was a bit more comfortable than someone's shoulder, and he didn't mind it. Anthony nodded as he heard the man speak again before going silent, and just closed his eyes and quickly fell asleep yet again.

Gabriel went to his study instead to read. At some point he had to calm the housekeeper, who was angry with him for letting the 'thug' stay. She finally decided to ignore him instead, and Gabriel missed his evening cup of tea. Two hours later, he returned to Anthony, and gently shook him. "Mr. Rowe...? Can you hear me?"

This was probably the deepest sleep Anthony's had in years. Though he didn't immediately wake up at Gabriel's attempts to make him do so, he did eventually drift into consciousness enough to frown and try to swat Gabriel's hands away. He could have woken up if he wanted to, but he was tired and he didn't want to do so.

Gabriel pulled his hand back when Anthony tried to swat it. "I'm sorry, but I have to wake you. All you need to do is nod if you hear me. Then you can go back to sleep."

Anthony woke up after a little bit of contemplating whether or not he should do so, but he certainly wasn't happy about it. It took a bit for the question to hit him, and he just nodded once, very eager to get this over with and go the hell back to sleep.

"Good..." he said, relieved. "You can go back to sleep."

He got up and left the room. The poor man had been beaten up real bad. He should probably report it. Elijah Crane. He instantly believed that was a good idea and wondered why he hadn't thought of it before. Surely, such a matter ought to be reported. Surely, a constable was needed. Surely, it wasn't looking for temptation if there was a pressing reason to go see the constable at this time of day.

Gabriel basically soared over to Elijah's home and knocked on the door.

Elijah opened the door and blinked in surprise. He hadn't seen Father Richards outside of church services for quite a while. It made him feel awfully guilty that he still found the man so wonderful even though he was a loyal boyfriend.

"Ah, Father! It's so unusual to see you here. Is.. everything alright?" He had to have come for a reason, it seemed clear he wouldn't come to just visit which was for the best since he didn't know how to tell him how far he had fallen from grace.

Gabriel had forgotten the injured man at his home. He smiled awkwardly. "Mr. Crane... Yes, I hope you are well?" He hadn't seen the constable much. Only in church. He hadn't come to confession again. And though Gabriel had taken different roads than he usually would, which had nothing to do with the constable possibly being there, he hadn't seen Crane much.
