Elijah frowned. "What? Do you remember what he looked like? Where you were when it happened? I can't believe someone conned you then beat you after taking your money." He didn't know where Anthony got his money but trusted that it was his in this case.

From what he remembered, it wasn't so much a con as it was the guy just being a moron. Oh well, he wasn't gonna start defending him. "Uh, well," Anthony looked away as he tried to recall what the man looked like. He knew the man, but he couldn't remember his name or anything else that could identify him. "...not really." Goddamnit. He really did go through the effort of retelling that, only for it to mean absolutely nothing in the end.

Elijah sighed and touched his cheek. "You're still in pain and injured. Recover a little and maybe it will come back to you."

Anthony had just wasted Elijah's time with that. He said absolutely nothing of substance, he just told a sob story with no point behind it. He frowned. "Right. Sorry." He was hoping it would come back to him.

Elijah waved him off. "Don't be silly, you are fine! I know more than I did, and I am happy that you told me. I can start finding out information. And you may recall things later. Don't let it get to you, alright?"

Anthony nodded. "Alright," he said, though he still wasn't convinced. Anthony tried to think about whether he remembered anything the guy who handed his ass to him, but he still wasn't any wiser than before. "I— that guy was taller than me by a bit. I can remember that. Doesn't really help, though." He realized quickly how stupid saying that was. Like every single man in Whitby is taller than him. Ugh.

Elijah smiled and nuzzled into him. "Ah, that's alright. Perhaps something will jog your memory, don't worry about trying too hard. I promise,we will figure this out."

Anthony tried not to be too depressed about the fact that he's not helping. "I hope so," he said. Maybe he was just being spiteful, but he didn't want to see that asshole who attacked him go unpunished. "I just— I know that I know that guy, but I cannot for the life of me remember anything about him. It's.....eugh." Annoying, is what it is.

Elijah lightly touched his face. "It's alright. You have been through a lot. If you know him, it will come to you. Don't force it. You need to spend a few days in bed anyway."

"Yeah, you're right," Anthony said. "it's kind of hard not to worry or think about it too much. But I'll try, I guess." Maybe he should just get some rest and then everything'll become clear? He just tried to convince himself to stop overthinking, now. And failed.
