RE: Business to settle - Elijah Crane - 06-08-2020

Elijah stepped in to check on him. "Ah.. Anthony? Are you feeling any better?" He tried to look over at him but he was curled up and clearly in pain. He sighed heavily. "I'm sorry this happened to you. I hope when you recover that you are careful where you go. I don't want you getting hurt any more.'

Anthony nodded. He was still miserable, but less miserable than before. The drugs were doing their job well enough. "I'll be more careful," he said, mostly to get this lecture to stop. It's not like he got his ass beat because he was being reckless, or anything! He was literally just at the wrong place at the wrong time! Anthony didn't share his frustrations with Elijah, though. He knew that he meant well.

Elijah didn't look convinced but nodded. "Please do.. I .. I worry what could have happened if you hadn't gotten help. I don't want to lose you.' He frowned and held his hand, squeezing it lightly.

That made him feel very guilty. Yeah, he was definitely gonna try to stay safe, now. Even if only because he didn't want Elijah to be sad. "'m sorry," Anthony said, unsure of what else there was for him to say  "I'll be more careful, now, I promise."

Elijah nodded and delicately kissed his hand. "Do you want some water or anything?" He watched him, knowing he was in pain and so he wasn't about to ask him to get up from the bed.

"Yes," he nodded. "please. Water, I mean." He really just needed a small distraction, right now, and that seemed like a half-decent one. And he also just really wanted some water.

Elijah moved quickly and got a glass of water for him. He helped the man sit up slowly so that he could drink. "Would you like me to get something to help you sit propped up? Or are you alright if I just leave the glass on the bedside?"

"You can just leave it there," Anthony said, shifting a bit until he wasn't as uncomfortable as he was before. He stayed silent for a moment. "...can you stay here?" He knew that Elijah had to go to work and all that, but he really did not want to be alone right now.

Elijah looked at him and then smiled softly as he sat on the other side of the bed. "I will stay all day if you want me too, as long as there is no emergency."

Anthony was very pleased to hear that. "Thank you," he said, before briefly turning his attention away from Elijah to take the glass of water he'd brought him and drink. His hands were weaker than he had thought, though, and while he managed to to successfully sip from the glass a few times, he just eventually kind of. Spilled half the water left on himself. "Shit."
