RE: Business to settle - Elijah Crane - 06-08-2020

Elijah managed to sleep soon after and woke with a stretch. He felt rather good until he recalled the previous day's events. He sighed and sat up and checked on Anthony to make sure he was feeling better.

Anthony was still asleep by the time Elijah woke up, but not for long. His body just eventually forced him to also wake up. It was miserable. Not just the waking up in itself, but the fact that the drugs had now worn off and all the pain just basically came flooding back, and the new bruises meaning that he was in even worse pain. Anthony squeezed his eyes shut, and involuntarily let out a small whimper.

Hearing the whimper, he sat up sharply and looked at him in worry. "Please speak to me. Are you alright?" He tried to check his eyes and his head for the previous injuries.

Anthony winced as Elijah checked him for injuries, and tried to swat his hands away at first, but eventually decided against it and gave in. "Everything hurts," he whined, a bit miserable to even try and lie about being alright.

Elijah sighed heavily. "Well, you were really hurt. Do you want me to get a doctor or just give you something for the pain?" He looked at him worriedly and brushed his fingers through his hair to soothe him.

Elijah's attempts at soothing him were comforting, of course, but he still felt incredibly horrible. "No doctors," Anthony shook his head, as if to emphasize the 'no'. A doctor was the last thing he wanted, right now.

Elijah nodded. "Of course, but if you start feeling worse, please let me get one. I don't want something happening to you." He looked concerned but then went to look at what medicine he had and grabbed something for pain. "Here, take just a little. It should help."

"Okay," Anthony said, his voice cracking a bit halfway through the word. He just curled up in the bed again, absolutely miserable, and waited for Elijah to come back. Eventually he did, and Anthony just accepted the meds and downed them without a second thought. "thank you." Now to wait for the drugs to start doing their job.

Elijah sighed and made some tea as he let Anthony rest. His chin rest on the palm of his hand and he stared ahead trying to not think about anything that's developed. He wanted to turn back time and never tell the priest. It wasn't like letting it out saved his soul. He closed his eyes and wondered if he should go to work, he wanted to keep an eye on Anthony a little longer.

Anthony just lay down on the bed and stared at the ceiling, waiting for the medicine to kick in. It didn't do so for what seemed like a very long time, so he was just resigned to curling up in the bed, whimpering like a puppy and trying to be patient and just keep waiting. It took some time until the drugs finally kicked in — they were much less intense than what the doctor gave him yesterday, but it worked well enough, so he didn't complain.
