RE: Business to settle - Anthony Rowe - 06-07-2020

Why didn't Elijah feel welcome here? Did something happen? Anthony was very curious, but didn't say anything. It can wait until they get home. He took his hand and stood up, swaying a little bit. It was pretty obvious that he wasn't well enough to be able to actually properly stand and walk on his own. Anthony just held onto Elijah's arm for support, and tried to stand to the best of his ability.

Elijah was worried he'd fall over so he wrapped an arm around to steady him. "Think you can hold on?" He turned away to offer the man to piggy back as it would be far easier for him and give him a chance to let his face calm down more before they got home. Maybe he'd not remember this night, it would be best.

"Yes," Anthony nodded, still holding onto Elijah as if his life depended on it. He glanced away from Elijah, and looked around the room. "can we go, now? I want to go." He was beginning to get a little bit restless, now. Really, he just wanted to leave as soon as possible, and the fact that they were just standing here was kind of irritating to him.

Elijah waited for Anthony to wrap his arms around his neck so he could carry him on his back and called out though his voice sounded hollow, "Thank you for your help, Father..' It seemed only polite though he was sure it fell on deaf ears. He hung his head and walked out the door carefully and headed home.

Gabriel sat curled up against the wall in his study. He heard Elijah, but he couldn't find strength to respond.

Anthony looked at Elijah as if he were a madman. "What are you doing?" Confusing. He shook his head for only a moment, started walking to the best of his ability, and essentially just tried to drag Elijah with him. "Whatever. Let's go." He had no plans of accepting that piggyback ride, as he literally also had no idea that that's what Elijah was offering him. He just wanted to get home the conventional way.

Elijah shook his head. 'You look like you could fall over. I am trying to carry you. " He sighed not feeling like he wanted to fight. He felt very rejected and defeated. He slumped forward and let Anthony do it how he wanted and walked at his side to give him support.

Anthony stopped in his tracks as it dawned upon him. "Oh. Okay, I get it now," he nodded, now totally understanding what Elijah had been doing. The urge to just let himself be carried home was very strong, but he thought that maybe it would be rude to ask him to do it now, after having already rejected it. So he just stood still, revelling in that realization.

Elijah was feeling exhausted but he had the strength to take Anthony home. He looked at him and turned again, "Want a lift? Just let me carry you and we'll be home quickly." He didn't want to remain there, the sooner he was home the better. It hurt to think he'd probably not return to the church but he had to think of it as just another chapter in his life.

"Sure," Anthony decided, eventually. The thought of being carried was nice and he didn't really have the energy to walk the entire way home, anyways, so he might as well exploit Elijah and make him carry him home. He had to tip-toe so that he could properly reach Elijah's neck, but he managed to do so, and just wrapped his arms around the man's neck, absolutely ready to just be carried away.
