Catherine has long blond hair and green-blue eyes with dark lashes. She likes to wear pretty and expensive dresses that accentuate her small waist. She is slender and has learned to carry herself with the utmost grace. Her skin is very pale, because she always makes sure to protect it from the sun, and if one looks closely, she actually appears a little sickly. However, she spends half her mornings and evenings applying the right creams and powders, taking care of her hair, and making sure her outfits complement her features, and so one might not notice. |

Catherine was born just outside of Whitby to a very wealthy family. She grew up in a large family and spent most of her early years in the nursery and school room with her siblings. Her mama and papa tried to see her once a day.
Growing up in a large family, she was eager to distinguish herself. Learning, from early childhood on, that they were an important family and that she was expected to become an elegant lady and marry well, she committed herself to excelling in just that. She worked hard to master not just reading, writing, and arithmetic but to develop her feminine accomplishments like music, singing and drawing at an early age. She made sure to always look elegant and proper, and she tried to be more graceful in her appearance and manners than her sisters.
When she was a teenager, she was sent to a young ladies' school with a very good reputation, and here she could further develop her accomplishments. The school would measure the girls' waists and encouraged tight lacing, and Catherine managed to get the smallest waist among her peers - something that she took and still takes great pride in.
Ultimately, however, Catherine had to leave school because of poor health, and so she is finishing her education at home. She faints regularly and often suffers migraines or fatigue. The doctor has told her to stop tight lacing and get more exercise, but Catherine is horrified by that idea.
At the moment, she is keeping her eye out for gentlemen of greater rank and fortune than her own. She is determined to find a better husband than her sisters and become the envy of the town. |
