He nodded. "No siblings?"

Anthony shook his head, and rest his head on his hand. "No."

Tristan frowned at the man's body language, but continued: "And what about friends? Have you never been able to make friends, or have former friendships died?"

"Nothing and noone's dead, I just don't really...make friends."

He nodded again and wrote something down. "How come?"

"Because I am just not a very likable person."

"In what sense?" Tristan could sum up a few suggestions, but he wisely shut up.

"I'm an asshole," Anthony shrugged. How else was he even supposed to explain this?

That statement surprised him, alright. He was silent for a moment, and then asked: "Have you... tried not to be an asshole?"

"Well, yes," Anthony said. "but people still hate me, regardless of that."
