Theodosia was making the rounds again around the lobby and was distracted by a group of children tugging at her skirts and loudly asking when suppertime was. As she knelt to deal with the wild ones, she noticed through the crowd the same man who'd tried stealing from her before resting suspiciously by another valuable item. He didn't make a move toward it and soon someone stepped into her field of view and she lost sight of the man. Giving a silent curse, sure not to actually say the word aloud because of all the children around her at the moment, she stood up, one of the kiddos clinging onto her back like a little monkey, and scanned the room for the man again, her annoyance at this whole situation nearly boiling over.

There were quite a bit of people here. It wouldn't be impossible for him to just take what he wanted and then just try to slip out unnoticed. It took quite a bit of contemplation, until he hesitantly placed his hand on the thing he had his eye on, and looked around to see if anyone was looking at him. But he still didn't actually take it. He needed to know for certain that noone would notice him, before he would try and do so.

Another kid tried to jump on Theodosia's back as her gaze skimmed over the man she was looking for and she stumbled to a crouching position, shrugging off the child on her back and shooing them away with the assistance of two servants. By the love of God, where were their parents? By the time Theodosia finally reclaimed her poise, she'd lost track of where in the room the man was and quickly signaled to her doorkeep to watch for anyone making a quick exit.

And that was all the reassurance Anthony needed. With a quick movement of the hand, he snatched the damned little thing up and stuffed it in a pocket. He anxiously looked around to see if anyone had noticed, and he relaxed quite a bit as it seemed that noone was aware of what he had just done. He moved away from where he was, but didn't leave the inn, because he was adraid that would make him look more suspicious.

Theodosia's gaze finally landed on the man after a long moment. She squinted at him. He didn't seem to have anything in his hands, but she couldn't tell if something was in his pocket. With her usual poise and grace, she slipped across the lobby toward him, her intent quite set on giving him a sharp word or two for his suspicious behavior. Her gaze moved to his side. The silver candlestick, a short one, was missing from its usual place. Oh, he'd better be ready for a good slap.

Anthony was completely unaware of the impending doom approaching him. He just felt kind of pleased that his little crime hadn't been noticed by anyone, as far as he knew. He hadn't yet noticed that Theodosia was approaching him. Perhaps that was a good thing.

Theodosia didn't even bother with grabbing the man's arm this time. She appeared out of the crowd like a lioness hidden amongst prairie grass, hand raised in preparation- and the mighty slap she placed on his cheek caught the attention of at least eighteen other folk gathered, if not more that Theodosia hadn't noticed. "AHEM." Her loud voice caused more surrounding people to look. Good, let this man have attention heaped on him, maybe he'll be more inclined to listen to me. "PUT. THE. CANDLE. STICK. BACK." YOU. BASTARD.

Anthony was relatively content, knowing that he had gotten away with his crime. Or, well, he thought that he knew that. He heard the 'whack' sound from the slap and the shouting a moment before he could actually feel what happened. He instinctively raised a hand to his face as if to protect it, and winced at both the pain and the feeling of everyone's eyes on him. Now everyone here knew what he had done. Fucking hell. Fuck. Shit. "Fine!" He slowly moved his hand away from his face to take the candlestick he had hidden in his pocket.

Theodosia's piercing glare was like that of a thousand daggers poking into the very conscience of whoever it was aimed at. In this case, Anthony was the unlucky recipient, and she watched him carefully as he reached for his pocket. If he even dared, if he was that foolish, to draw a weapon on her, well, he'd better count his prayers because she was taking no shit from anyone today. Truly, her cold anger and just complete done-with-this-bullshit-ness were so strong she might just be able to ignore the stab of a blade or the shot of a pistol.

Anthony wouldn't even dream of drawing a weapon, right now. Doing that in front of all these people? No thanks. He tried to ignore the dozens of eyes on him, and just took the candlestick from his pocket, and set it down on whatever surface was closest to him. He raised his hands to show that he had no weapons, and nothing else, either. "There. Done."
