Elijah wasn't bothered as it was empty on the street and he wasn't so loud, he believed. The man listened and smiled patting his shoulder. "Sounds like he's someone very special. I'm very glad you met and he saw you for who you are. " He was a little annoyed that a wealthy man couldn't spend the money to get his love to York but he didn't know the details of their life. So he wouldn't ask. "I hope he treats you right and you two are very happy together."

Saw him for who he was... Simon shifted his weight from one foot to the other uncomfortably. "Thanks, Elijah." He said quietly. "Maybe one day you can meet him." And maybe not.

Elijah nodded and smiled. "I hope so. I don't know who you would be ashamed of..." He laughed softly as he thought it was clearly a joke, but then Simon's secrecy made him wonder.

"'ave you never even had a crush?" the young man asked.

The question felt like a change in topic and sent a blush to Elijah. "I mean.. I've found others handsome.. But I suppose.. I had one. Back in York." He smiled a little shyly. "A man I was in school with to become a constable. He was a beautiful man and very kind. We were friends, but that was clearly all."

"Sorry..." Simon said. "I'm sure with time you'll find someone handsome who is... like us."

Elijah laughed nervously and rubbed the back of his neck. "I probably could meet someone and never know. I would never even guess how to find out. Not like I could go out and ask. And I'm terribly awkward."

"Aye, it's tricky," Simon admitted. "I suppose, they'll drop hints, and you will, and you just wait and see whether they pick up on them and respond..."

Elijah grinned slightly. "You overestimate my ability to pick up on hints."

Simon grinned and patted his shoulder. "Ye just need a bit of confidence, 's all."
