Benny shook his head and took his sweet time to go to the back. "So stupid. I'm not a servant and you technically live here. Is he or she even home?" He had his hands stuffed in his pockets as he waited for her. "You gonna let me in?" He smiled sweetly. "I got something for you if you do a little something for me?"

Rose let him into the kitchen. "Keep quiet. My master is a grumpy goat and he has this awful sister. I don't want them to fire me. What is it?"

Benny took a seat and looked uninterested in obeying but he did quiet down. "I need a job. I figured with my experience on ships some fisherman wouldn't mind the extra hand for a little while. Just until my captain comes back, whenever that is. You must know a few and could put in a good word for me. Just not your dad, he already hates me and is the worst."

"He ain't that bad." Rose said defensively. She thought. "He's the only one I can think of for now who could use a hand, but we've no money, and he doesn't like you." She felt no need to sugarcoat that. It was no secret. "I can't think of anyone else. We dont usually hire outsiders..."

"Agree to disagree.."Benny wasn't about to get into an argument right now about her old man. He sighed and produced the box from his coat and held it out to her but kept it just out of reach. "Then keep an eye out. Doesn't even have to be a fisherman, I'll take anything. Maybe your boss knows someone. I don't need much, but until my captain gets back I'm paying for my own shelter and food until whenever and its adding up I wasn't expecting it."

He frowned and was quiet for a moment before shrugging. "Who knows, he's never done it before. But perhaps he heard of a big score he couldn't wait and miss out on. Money comes first..." he lied.

Benny slumped. "That's why I was hoping I could use your connections." He closed his eyes in a dramatic fashion and leaned back with an arm over his head. "Woe's me. I hope you don't let me down. If you can't do that, at least look for someone who can take me in for free. Any way I can save a little money."
