RE: I'll Just Be Taking This, Thanks - Francis Tully - 09-23-2019

Francis looked around the place, "Very nice. The church treats you well." He sat and stretched out his legs."Must be the good life , eh?"

Gabriel shifted uncomfortably. "There's... It's a nice house..." he admitted, wishing he lived in a shed.

Francis nodded looking around. "Just you and the cook then? You get a lot of guests?"

"Priests from other parishes, mostly." Gabriel answered. "And people like yourself." He should probably stop inviting them in.

Francis suddenly had a huge smile. "Does that mean if I'm nice and polite you'll let me have shelter? Even if just for tonight?"

Gabriel sighed. He didn't do this. If he started housing people, others would come and there would be no end to it. Not to mention the fact that the bishop would have his hide if he ever got wind of it. And yet, how could he turn the man away now? "One night," he gave in. "If you will not tell a soul. I can't provide shelter to half of Whitby."

Francis smiled huge. "Thank you, father. Of course not, if I did that I'd never have a place again if I really need it. I owe you a favor then. Simple as that."

"If you want me to do a favour, don't steal again." He said uncomfortably. Goodness, what had he just said yes to?

RE: I'll Just Be Taking This, Thanks - Francis Tully - 09-23-2019

Francis shrugged and smiled. "Alright. Long as I can get a meal and I bed, I need nothing else. I'm sure if I can find folks half as generous as you perhaps I can find work and not worry about it. You are the first good thing to happen to me so far." He grinned, though wondered if he should feel bad for lying but decided not to. This guy was getting to feel nice he was helping someone, he probably thought horrible things about Francis. It wasn't like he'd know anyway.

Gabriel frowned. "I'm sorry to hear that. If people were more generous, I suppose a lot of problems would be solved..." He still felt highly uncomfortable.
