Ruth mirrored him by tilting her own head. "You know..."

Menachem mimicked her look. "Do I?"

Ruth gave him a smug smile, then turned her attention away from him.

A raised brow was all he could form before she'd turned away. He pretended to be marking off a list. "Difficult to work with. Tsk tsk."

"Should have bounced me," Ruth commented casually while her eyes were still turned away.

"You haven't met her yet. I have plenty of time to toss you out on your face. But I feel like you're just full of hot air." His reply was just as casual as any other.

She turned her eyes back on him. "I'd prefer ye to toss me on me back." She had forgotten to keep up the posh accent by this time.

Menachem wasn't a fool or an ass. He'd never attempt to shame a woman for her habits or how she made her money. "I think your face would recover. You'd have more cushion on your front unless you think you could land on your ass." He said feigning cluelessness.

A coy smile once again cracked through Ruth's hard featured. "I see you have been studying me..."

The tall man shook his head as he kept his eyes to the front. "I'm not blind. Doesn't mean I changed my opinion on not during work hours."
