Harry scoffed but said nothing. He fixed a few screws.

Claude waited quietly, holding the cart as still as he could.

Harry took the wheel and started reattaching it. "Can barely see what I'm doing." He repeated.

Claude sighed ever so lightly. "Get George or Noah out?"

And suddenly Harry tossed down the tools and rose again. "You shut your gob, or I'll shut it for ya!"

Claude very quickly did as he was told.

But Harry wasn't done. Damn his useless wife. Damn his crying and whining children. Damn his work. And damn Claude and his attitude. "Ya think you can come home late and give me attitude about it as well?!"

Claude stood very, very still.

Harry took that as a sign on disrespect. "Lower that bloody cart and answer me, son!"

Claude put it down and looked at his father. "It was simply a suggestion that if they came in help'd we could have it finished before there was no night left" he replied very, very lightly.
