"I will keep him in mind, thank you." She would be looking into him, though she didn't need a specialist, just a typical normal doctor for if she became ill. She had the answer to the questions that had been dancing around in her mind.
She sat down and arranged her skirts with her empty hand as he talked to the man that had arrived. That the man seemed clueless as to the reason for this discussion, Vela determined that the house was not well managed at all. To have no idea that the staff was not monitoring the cooking food nor even around the kitchen working on anything, made her wonder how anything was done at all.
After the man left, and the Baron spoke to her again, she nodded. "It would seem so, my lord." She agreed.
She had seen her mother meet with the housekeeper and the chef regularly as she grew up. Father dealt with the businesses and the property with regular tours to check in on things, and Mother had done surprise dust checks randomly upstairs and checked the silver and kitchen at least once a week. Likely that was how Vela had gotten her own way of staying on top of things. If you wanted something done, you did it yourself or stayed on top of it to make sure those you pay to do it are doing the job the way you want it to be done.
She tended to be very focused when on a job and seeing to the details, thus the discussion when she had first arrived. Not having those details set down yet, was something she adapted depending on the client. For this job, she felt she would have her hands full, as a new staff could be either a good thing or a bad thing depending on how they worked with her.
