He had sent a letter in hopes of being granted permission to get assistance. Unfortunately, there seemed to be no one in nearby towns to transfer so he would have to get someone new and train them in hopes that it would do until a man with real training could come, if one ever did. After the attack at the bar, he had wanted help in case he was truly ever out of commission, plus it would be nice if he could have more time at home without someone pounding on his door.

He had told his priest and the preacher in town hoping perhaps they could help spread the word, especially to anyone of good morals who could do the job. He wouldn't forgive himself if he'd hired someone who took advantage of others with their position. Elijah started to wonder if anyone would even come for the job.

He sat at his desk and focused on his paperwork as it seemed he had nothing else to do for the moment.

The last guy she'd mugged had had the letter on his person - so Fanny figured why not? She met the height requirement!

She'd done this a few times, mostly when acting troupes were in town. Padded herself down with some extra layers instead of propping her little breasts up as high and close together as they could go. She'd scared enough johns out over the years to have her own veritable stash of men's clothes that ... fit, somewhat.

Face washed clean but still reeking of secondhand boudoir perfume, Fanny knocked cheerfully on the station door.

Hearing a knock, Elijah jumped up and answered. He was very hopeful but paused looking confused after letting in the person he didn't recognize. "Ah.. H-hello I'm Constable Crane. You're here to see about the job?" Elijah let them in and offered a seat. "Would you like some tea?" He grabbed some papers so he could fill it out but handed out one sheet and a pen. "You know how to read and write?" Of course a few could have just heard about it and be unable to. He wouldn't let that be a definite no, but it certainly was preferred they were someone capable.

She merely nodded in response to his question, following close behind him like personal space was not a thing.

"Mm," she grunted, as low as she could.

Which was mourning dove versus chickadee.

Wordlessly, she read over the form and started filling it out.

She drew an 'i' over the 'e' in her name on second thought, taking an inordinate amount of time on embellishing her name in calligraphy.

Elijah kept glancing over as 'Francis' was very close until he handed over the paperwork. He sat in his seat and handed over a cup of tea before starting to fill out some things on his own paper before looking up. "Have you lived here all of your life? And do you have any experience at all with military or law in any way?"

She nodded to the 'lived here all your life' question, and shook her head to the 'experience' one.

Fanny paused to take a sip of tea, careful not to smudge her lipstick. Wait. She wasn't wearing any. Upon remembering that, she threw it back and chugged through in eleven seconds flat, then wiped her mouth on the inside of her sleeve.

This guy was certainly unusual. He filled a few things out then looked at the paper that was supposed to have simple questions like age, if he was married, etc. "Hm, alright. Are you unable to speak? Not meaning to be rude, just that usually we have to speak to people. Not that I won't consider you just because of that. You seem like a tall figure who might not need to speak too much." He chuckled weakly to try to keep the meeting from being too intimidating for this fellow. "Did you have a job before this?"

For age, this gentleman seemed to be the prime military age of 18 judging by his paper. Unmarried, no children that Fanny would admit to, grew up not far from the Longbottoms.....

Hazel eyes looked flatly up at the constable's question.

"I'm tall," reiterated a grumbly, prepubescent-sounding voice.

Again, the large person before him nodded before rolling his eyes and mumbling:

"Yes. Legal."

So much for trying to be friendly. Elijah cleared his throat and nodded then looked up. "Legal? You had a legal job? Did you help in a court house or something?" He was ready to write down as this man seemed very young to have had such a job and living near the Longbottoms was a sort of place that didn't give one many opportunities for such a job.

"Uh," Fanny said, approximately three octaves too high. "Yes."
