He quirked an eyebrow.

"She wants me to be the perfect lady" she shrugged. "Don't get me wrong, I can. But I have a brain."

"Of course you do!" said Jacob. "So she's preparing you do decorate someone's home?" he shook his head. "Don't let her pollute your mind."

“I often think it’s the only way I will ever get away from her and father...” she stood and moved to see if her clothes were dry.

"That bad?" He asked. "What would you want to do, if you had the freedom?"

“Travel, study, have a say in my life” she shrugged and grabbed her clothes to go get changed once. “I have high doubts that will happen.”

"No extended family that can help you? A strange aunt who supports your case? A rich uncle?" He nodded in the direction of the bedroom where she could change.
