This was going nowhere. The man had a point though. There was no point in thinking about it. Instead, he opened his suitcase with just a little too much force and began tossing his things into it.

"Are you leaving?" Anthony asked. He was kind of praying for the answer to be 'yes'. He was getting a bit tired of his behaviour.

"I'll have to go and pick up my wife."
That sounded pretty horrible after last night's events.
"And I still have to go see the constable."
But he might just skip that, for fear that the constable could read the facts from his guilty face.

"Uh-uh," Anthony nodded. He took this as his cue to, like, actually get up. He rubbed his eyes, looked for his clothes, and as soon as he found them started to dress as well. "well, you go and have fun with that, then."

"Thanks," he said. He would normally take time to have breakfast, but he felt sick. So that gave him some time. The headache could be blamed on the attack, so that served him nicely. The Wards would never need to find out that he was hungover. He kind of had to pee, but he was too embarrassed to use the chamberpot in the presence of someone else. Instead, he opened the door, found a basin and jug of water outside, took it and quickly closed the door, before anyone would see he was here with another man. Then he started washing his face. The cold water was welcome against his painful head.

"I—" Anthony opened his mouth to say something, but was interrupted by Tobias just. Leaving. "...Right," he nodded, and went back to occupying himself with the seemingly impossible task of tying his neckerchief.

Tobias had taken the water into the room, and was washing his face in the room. When he was done, he turned to Anthony and watched him, as if watching him would make sense of the situation.

Or had Tobias not left after all? Ugh. He was so tired. This was solid proof that really needed to get some more sleep soon. He kept fiddling with the damn neckerchief for a few more minutes, perplexed by how difficult this mundane task suddenly became. Maybe he shouldn't have drank so much yesterday. Eventually, he juet gave up, tossed the neckerchief onto the ground and huffed, very annoyed at it.

"You alright?" Tobias asked, even though it was evident the man was not alright. He walked over, picked up the neckerchief, and started tying it for Anthony.

Anthony was still staring angrily at that demonic piece of cloth when Tobias asked that. Regardless of the fact that he was, quite obviously, not alright, he still nodded. He was about to submit to defeat yet again and pick up the neckerchief, but Tobias had done it first. He was surprised, pleasantly so, when he started tying it for him. "Thank you," he said.
