Oh, dear. The thought of Nettie meeting some of the people he'd met was not one that he particularly liked, but he did not dash her hopes. There were just as many decent people in Whitby as there were anywhere else -- Malachi was just yet to meet them.
That was not entirely true, though, and he tried to get it out of his head before it stuck. He would have no issues at all with his niece meeting someone like Father Richards, or Mrs. Higgins, or... well that was about it, but he felt good about that number.
Nettie's statement about wild things caused him to cough, and Malachi covered his mouth. That was his own fault, he supposed.
"Yes," he dipped his head. Safe and boring. He could manage that, or he could at least try to manage it for Nettie's sake. He'd made it this long without stepping too far outside of his comfort zone; only had the rest of his life to go.
"I'm content as I am," assured Malachi. "And only more so, with you here. Although... I haven't the first clue where one goes to find a place to stay. I'll take you to some of the shops, we can figure it out from there."
