James furrowed his brows. "Because you're too busy writing poems?"

That was more like it. "Yeah," she admitted.

"Oh... I think pranks are more fun," said James, even though he had never read a poem in his life - indeed, couldn't read in the first place.

"They are, to be fair," Saoirse shrugged. She didn't write to have fun, though, she did it to make A Statement. Didn't really work, but, well, what can you do?

James was puzzled again. "Then why don't you prank instead?" Grown ups were so weird.

"Because I don't have time. I have to work, and all that," she repeated herself. If she could, then by all means she would spend all her pranking people, but she couldn't.

"How do you earn money by writing something?" James couldn't imagine who would pay to actually read anything.

She doesn't. "It– you'll understand when you're older," Saoirse dodged the question.

That annoyed the boy. "I know where babies come from," he said, because he assumed it had to do with that. People always said he would understand when he was older.

"That's– not relevant right now, at all," she replied. Maybe she should have phrased her sentence better.
