To Darius - Sonia DeAngelis - 07-31-2023

The message was unmarked on the outside but for his first name. The handwriting is shaky and somewhat smudged in areas. The paper is good quality. It was placed within a book and delivered to him privately. There was no return address.

Quote:Darius,

Z is not who I want to be with. He's deplorable. I didn't want this. I didn't want his hand. It's too late. Please be happy in life... Find someone who will love you as much as I do. One of us needs to be happy.

The book in question was a collection of poems, the note tucked away between specific pages and the title of the poem underlined. There was a notation in her handwriting that said, "Imagine the roles reversed."

"Down by the Salley Gardens" - By Yeats.

Quote:Down by the salley gardens my love and I did meet;
She passed the salley gardens with little snow-white feet.
She bid me take love easy, as the leaves grow on the tree;
But I, being young and foolish, with her would not agree.
In a field by the river my love and I did stand,
And on my leaning shoulder she laid her snow-white hand.
She bid me take life easy, as the grass grows on the weirs;
But I was young and foolish, and now am full of tears.[5][6]
