RE: Mother Some More - Kate Blacke - 12-27-2022

"Aye!" came Kate's startled response, and the girl was gone, running for the doctor's office at the bottom of Flowergate as fast as her lanky legs could carry her.

RE: Mother Some More - Anne Ward - 12-27-2022

Anne lay her head back into Mrs. Blacke's lap to keep herself from passing out again. She frowned. Her head hurt and she felt slightly nauseous. "I'm sorry, Mrs. Blacke," she repeated in a weak voice. "I didn't want to cause ye any trouble. I didn't think I'd faint. I nivver 'ave..."

RE: Mother Some More - Lottie Blacke - 12-27-2022

"Rubbish" Lottie stroked her hair. The poor thing apologised again for simply taking up space. "Just be still, dear. We'll find out what's wrong with ye."

RE: Mother Some More - Tristan Wells - 12-27-2022

After some time, Kate returned followed by Dr. Wells.

Tristan had looked after his patient from the bike accident, gone home to finally change out of his wet clothes, gone to find Tobias to argue with him, and returned home at last to finally have some time to himself... or so he had hoped. He had just sat down to his dinner when there came a frantic knocking at his door.

He didn't complain. Not really. He desperately needed the work.

He knelt down beside the woman and what he believed at a first glance to be her daughter. But then he recognized her. This was Alice's sister, the poor child who had fallen into the harbour earlier today and witnessed the same brutality he had. He grimaced, not at the girl, but at the memory she provoked. He looked at the older woman. "What happened?" Then he turned back to the girl. "Does it hurt anywhere, child?"

Anne did as Mrs. Blacke told her and lay still until the doctor arrived. When she saw who it was she frowned wearily and her eyes filled with angry tears. "Not 'im," she moaned.

RE: Mother Some More - Lottie Blacke - 12-27-2022

"Hush, child. Be still." Lottie commanded.

"Thank ye fer comin' so quick, Doctor. She fainted clear away a few minutes ago. Said was dizzy a couple of times too. Can ye 'elp 'er?"

[CW: Racism]

Tristan winced at the girl's words. It wasn't the first time that a patient reacted to him that way, though he suspected this time it had more to do with the events of the day than with the colour of his skin.

"Yes, but the first thing is to make sure there's no head injury. Did she hit her head in her fall?" He decided he might find things out quicker from the woman than from the child.

Anne held her tongue, but cried quietly. This man had done her no wrong, but she hated him for everything he represented to her in that moment.

RE: Mother Some More - Lottie Blacke - 12-27-2022

Lottie shook her head "I didn't see, I'm sorry."

Tristan nodded and turned his attention back to the girl. "I mean you no harm, child," he implored. "Not you, not your father, not your sister. I just want to help. Mrs. Blacke is very worried about you. Does your head hurt?"
