Nate kicked the partially open door with his foot, while fumbling with the latest post. The letter at the top of the thin stack had lovely handwriting on the outside. It also happened at the top, so it was the first one he read.
Finishing the two urgent lines, Nate dropped the rest of the unopened correspondence on his desk, letting the plea together with it's torn envelope fall wherever. He lunged for his hat and bolted from the room.
