RE: The Yacht Race - Elijah Crane - 05-08-2022

Elijah was trying to get back to his place to continue when he heard a familiar voice. He smiled and waved to Zech until he heard him and rose a brow. He seemed confused at the other's mood and figured it was just because he wasn't on board.

"You didn't ask me!" He called back and then waved a hand to his ship. "They're practically family." It seemed to be clear, at least it was to him. He hurried to his spot, but now he kept looking over at Zechariah. He was curious and he would have loved to be on his boat. But then, it was only one man working the ship and he was clinging to the mast. What was going on there?

RE: The Yacht Race - Benjamin Ward - 05-08-2022

This was not Ben's day.

He looked from Elijah to the boat of that... that perverted piece or misery. Did Elijah get along with him then? Seemed like it, and it made him feel sick with dread. Did that guy...

"Elijah! Focus!" he shouted, having lost his own focus.

That boat could still capsize.

RE: The Yacht Race - James Longbottom - 05-15-2022

They reached the piers to leave the harbour just as three of the other boats returned. "ATTACK!" he shouted. They'd enter the other ships and make the sailors walk the plank! He took out his slingshot and a pebble and fired it at one of the passing boats.

He reached in his pocket for another pebble, but before he could find one, he was flung across the deck as there was the loud noise of crushing wood and they came to a sudden halt. Well, not too sudden, because they hadn't been moving very fast.

James scrambled to his feet and looked back. They had hit the pier. The boat began to heel to one side. They were going to capsize.

"Not the goat!!!!" he shouted, and stumbled across deck to the mast. There he loosened the loop at the goat's neck and pulled it over the creature's head, just before the boat heeled over further and James plus goat were launched into the water.

RE: The Yacht Race - Murphy Maddock - 05-15-2022

If you looked at him at the right angle, you'd swear Murphy was smiling as they won first place. He was looking to his crew, congratulating them on being so first rate, even with the troubles they'd had. He wasn't paying attention when a small rock struck his broad shoulder. He looked down and rubbed the sore spot before looking over in the direction it came when he saw a small boy on a boat and the boat crash and start to turn.

He looked surprised and without another moment, commanded them drop anchor and he dove into the water to rescue the boy and his goat.

RE: The Yacht Race - Darius Carrington - 05-15-2022

Darius was cursing up a storm. The men on the boat were incompetent, he'd hired them to sail and they did nothing but vomit and run around playing pirate. He wanted to yell some more when there was a terrible sound, and the boat lurched. He grabbed at a side to keep to his feet when he heard one of the old men yelling about the goat , perhaps wanting to rescue it. But he didn't get much time to try before the boat moved again.

The oldest Carrington saw the sky and then plunged into chilly water. He managed to surface and cough up some of the water, but he didn't know how to swim. Why would he? He wasn't a fish! He clawed at the water, making no progress in remaining afloat or going to shore. Images of the death he'd seen flashed in his mind. Things were just about to go well for him! And now he feared he was going to meet the reaper because of a damned race.

RE: The Yacht Race - Tristan Wells - 05-16-2022

Tristan was already at the hull when he realized that ship was about to crash. He didn't even listen to their captain's words. God! There was a child on that ship!

But Maddock was quicker to jump into action. And into the water. Tristan watched anxiously. Then he noticed the man clawing at the water and going under. Why did people think it was a good idea to join a yacht race when they couldn't swim?

Tristan jumped after Mr. Maddock. The current was stronger than he expected and he was afraid to get too close to the sinking ship. Well, shit.

RE: The Yacht Race - Murphy Maddock - 05-17-2022

Murphy didn't hesitate as he grabbed the boy and pulled the bleating goat by its collar. The old man who was swimming towards them, from the sinking ship was trying to yell at him for trying to steal his goat. He was having a time though trying to do that and swim in the cold water and decided instead to focus to swim to shore and take care of the goat thief there.

He was hurrying towards a life guard while keeping the sinking ship in his sight. The last thing he needed was for it to turn and strike him with the mast or something.

RE: The Yacht Race - Darius Carrington - 05-17-2022

Darius couldn't see the doctor coming to rescue him. He was just barely able to keep his face above the water. But the moment he could feel someone coming towards him, he reached and clung to the person, pushing himself as much on top of them to get a good gulp of air and remain upright, not realizing if he was pushing the man under or not.

RE: The Yacht Race - Tobias Appleton - 05-17-2022

"Tristan!" Idiot. Tobias watched anxiously. He tossed him a life buoy when he realized he couldn't reach the drowning man safely.

Oh... probably should have tossed that at Mr. Maddock who seemed to be saving three members of the crew at the same time.

Meanwhile, where was his brother? Tobias peered out across the harbour, suddenly feeling cold.
