What became of their father’s oh-so precious legacy without his favorite boy in line to snatch it? Inheritance had seemed a far cry away before … but now, it was a question.
Thankfully, Darius was about as brain-dead as the animals he liked to stuff. Perhaps there was an easier future than all this … surgery business. Roderick took a few steps down the hall, letting them echo. Sure, it risked catching Ophelia’s attention – but he was starting to think even Ophelia was hiding from their mother’s wailing.
