The way he went to church every Sunday, always on time too, didn't drink, had been able to keep wife and children in line. Even Claude had likedgoing there as a boy. And then Ward's son had committed murder. He pitied the kid for having to hang. Who cared about some rich bastard who probably had it coming anyway? But he couldn't pity Benjamin.
