Tobias frowned. "Sorry... I thought ye said something..." Weird. He was still eating his food.

"Yeah, no, I didn't," Anthony said, and left it at that. He tried to decide whether he should just make his leave now, or stay and order a drink or two because oh god there was no way he was making it through this day sober.

It wasn't a very difficult decision. He flagged down the barmaid again, having decided to spend the last of his money on whiskey.

"Put it on t' tab." Tobias told the maid. Because he was determined to somehow pay this man back. So he wouldn't feel indebted. So he could think this guy was weird again.

Yeah.

He finished his meal and began drinking again.

Anthony hadn't quite expected that, but appreciated it nonetheless. If there was anything he enjoyed more than recklessly spending his own money on alcohol, it was recklessly spending others' money on alcohol. He smiled at Tobias, obviously very pleased by this. The maid brought him his drink, and he immediately started to drink. Wasn't this just lovely.

Tobias relished the burning sensation in his throat that the drink left. He normally didn't drink this much, though there had been plenty of occasions in the past month or so that he had felt the desire to lock himself in the barn or something and get properly wasted.

He probably hadn't felt this relaxed for weeks. Which was weird, considering the fact that he had just been attacked. "Ye found a job yet?" he ruined Anthony's joy.

Anthony was very happy for a few moments, but it seems that his happiness is always doomed to die an early death. "No," he said simply, and just kept drinking.

"I could always use help at t' farm if you're looking." Sober Tobias would die before he offered someone like Anthony a job. But rather tipsy and drowsy Tobias took another sip from his drink.

Ah. He wasn't being guilt tripped? That was a welcome surprise. "I don't think I'm really cut out for that kind of shit," Anthony said, well aware that even if he were to take the offer he would probably give up and/or die on the first day regardless.

"Fair enough. You don't look very strong," he said, because filters were for sober people.

"I'm not," Anthony said. Rather unfortunately, he finished his drink, and so he was already flagging down someone for another one. Not like it's his money that he'd buying the drink with, so why should he care about how much he's drinking?
