Oh help. Now he was forced to help the other guy out and make a conversation. "I hope I didn't disrupt your plans for tonight..." he said.

"Not at all," Anthony said, and clicked his tongue. He waited for a very brief moment to see if the man would continue, seeing as he himself had nothing more to say, but it seemed not. Maybe the silence was actually better, he started to think.

"That's good," he said. And then he realized what he had said. "I mean, not good that you had nothing to do...." Shit. "Not that that's bad per se. But I'm glad I didn't disrupt ye." Smooth.

"Huh?" Anthony had been perfectly content with the first two words, and everything else that came after just served to confuse him. "Okay..."

Time to shut up again. His head hurt anyway. Yeah....

Thankfully, the maid brought their meals. It was a meatpie with gravy and peas. "Another whiskey please, Miss." Tobias ordered, and he turned to Anthony. "Sure you're not havin' owt?"

Oh, thank God. One step closer to freedom. Anthony was ready to shut up and just get to eating, but, oh, of course Tobias just had to talk to him. "Yeah, I'm sure," Anthony said.

"Alright," he said. Wow. Was this guy off the drink? Well, Tobias could only encourage that. The barmaid walked away and returned a little later with his whiskey. Tobias ate in silence.

"Right." Anthony nodded, and having assumed that Tobias wouldn't be speaking any more, started to eat as well. Which wasn't very pleasant of an experience at all, considering he had absolutely no appetite, but a this point he was willing to do it just to avoid talking.
