But he didn't. He stared at Anthony.

The barmaid leaned her chin on her hand, elbow on the bar, and shook her head.

And so they just...sat there. Staring at each other. Anthony clasped his hands together. "So..." he trailed off yet again. He had nothing to say, but saying something was better than saying nothing, right?

"Yeah..." His thumb rubbed Anthony's leg.

The barmaid rolled her eyes and she went back to drying glasses.

He stayed quiet for a few moments again. "...So are you gonna do anything or are we just gonna sit here like this forever?"

"I..." He hadn't thought that far ahead. Well, he had, kind of, but it was all a lot easier in his imagination. He was sobering up enough to be vaguely aware of that concept called 'consequences'. "I... erm... should go."

He said. But he moved his hand up a little.

Anthony tilted his head, looked down at his hand for a moment, then back up at him. "Well, that's a damn shame." He put his hand on the back of his neck again. He really has to do everything himself.

Oof. He was touch starved. He wanted more of it. But that bastard 'consequence' was starting to whisper in the back of his mind. Tobias found himself wishing he was more drunk, so that he could shut it up. Just one night of not being responsible was all he wanted.

"You could come with me." He squeezed the man's leg.

Ah-ha. Progress. Honestly, he wasn't even sure why he was doing this. Maybe just because he was very drunk. Or very lonely. Or both. Either way, it made him feel happy so he continued. He had the most shit-eating of smiles on his face as Tobias spoke. "To where?"

Oh dear. He had to spell it out. That made him feel uncomfortably guilty. "Erm... Never mind..."

Anthony giggled. "Yes, nevermind. You don't have to spell it out for me. I understood what you meant." He was just being a bitch, as was customary of him.
