At the sight of all that was going on down in the cave, she gave a gasp of awe. "I knew there had to be more," she said to herself in triumph. Why wouldn't there be more? To have come down so quickly only to see no escape but up was a bit of a letdown. But seeing this ship off in the near distance, made up for the chill she felt from the water. She lifted her torch a little higher and surveyed the cove with fascination.

"Most certainly."

Quentin says to both their statement.

"The question is, what more is there and how do we escape by water? Considering that this underground cove hasn't been found the entrance to it must be hidden through some means."

He strokes his chin in consideration as he looks around the place.

"It's hard to say how far we've come but at a rough guess, we must be close to the cliffs. It's the only thing that makes logical sense, it's the only place the water would be deep enough for a ship to sail out of here."

Gareth walked in the direction of the ship and lifted his torch, to get a better look of it. "How long do you reckon this has been abandoned," he asked Quentin.

Claire followed suit with the torch. She wanted to disentangle herself from the rope and break off from the two, but that would be stupid, she thought. "It must have taken them years to build all of this," she said in wonder.

"As I understand things, the better part of a century."

Quentin says as he leads the way around the cove heading towards the ship.

"Captain Delancy and The Never Say Die were last reported on the open waters in seventeen ninety-eight."

He explains as he tests some of the wooden beams. They seemed to be sturdy enough though he wasn't sure he'd trust the sections of dock directly over the water, hugging to the ones that were over stone and rock.

"Of course, that was the last official report. Not an exact time of when they actually abandoned this place. A shame, even if the cave was naturally formed the stonework and buildings must have, as you noted Miss Deveraux, taken years. I can't approve of the work they did on the open sea but the ingenuity and dedication to doing this is truly astounding."

Gareth looked around. It was impressive, there was no denying that. But there was something eerie about it as well. "What happened to them?" he asked, wondering how such a place had come to be abandoned. "There must have been a lot of people involved."

"Fascinating," she said as she walked as far as the rope would let her before stopping short. Her eyes drank in the sights of the cavern with more than a little interest. "What do you think is on the ship?" she asked. The treasure was great and all, but the whole experience? Yeah, that was awesome! She was hyped up now.

"I have no idea, perhaps we will learn from the ship's log." He says as they reach the ship, it takes a few minutes to figure out how to get aboard and Quentin heads into the captains quarters. It was covered in dust and it doesn't take him long to find the log, cracking the yellowed pages open very carefully and starting to read. It had been kept wrapped in water tight seal skin so it was still in decent shape.

Gareth walked along with the rope, following Quentin. He wasn't too keen on getting on board of the ship, despite the fact that that was probably where the treasure was. It looked old, and the wood might have started rotting. Plus, they didn't know what they were going to find inside. As the wooden boards creaked under his feet, he only felt more uncomfortable. He wasn't the type to believe in ghosts, and yet he couldn't help the feeling that this place was haunted. Once they were in the Captain's quarters he looked around, mostly for something that might kill them, and then watched Quentin open the book.

Claire followed the two men carefully, placing one cautious foot in front of the other on the creaking boards. When they were on the ship and in the Captain's quarters, she spied Quentin cracking the book open and moved a little closer in obvious curiosity. She moved closer still, peeking at the book.
