Oh crap! Oh crap! He was lost! Gareth began to panic, but stopped himself. He listened carefully, and finally, he could hear soft voices coming from his left. He made his way over in that direction and reemerged about ten minutes after Claire. "Apologies. I got lost," he muttered, and he dropped the dry wood.

"Are you alright?" she asked politely. It seemed she had put her irritation aside and was trying for the sake of the trip to be civil even though she couldn't stand Mister Scott.

"Well, it seems you found your way. Goodman." Quentin says with a nod to Gareth as he clambers out of the hole underneath the boulder. He takes the gathered firewood and swiftly gets it together in the fire pit he'd prepared earlier. The wood soon catching thanks to his tinder box.

Claire's question surprised him. "Yeah, thanks," he said reluctantly. He watched Quentin make the fire.

She nodded. She wasn't a complete asshole like some people tended to be. We all know who they are... She moved to one side of camp to set up her area, close enough to the fire to keep warm but far enough away not to sweat.

With the fire made Mister Harbor gets a stand ready and sets to making a fine fish stew. Admittedly, he was using dried fish but once that absorbed some moisture from the water it would be nice and tender. It wasn't long before the little camp site was smelling rather pleasant and the fire helped keep the chill of the evening from their bones.

Gareth moved to the fireside and extended his palms towards the blaze. He was already beginning to feel cold. He watched the sailor prepare food.

While the food was being made, Claire sat on her pallet and wrapped her arms around one knee, setting her chin on that. She was hungry but not so hungry that she was going to watch anything but the fire.

It wasn't long before the stew is finished cooking and ladled out into bowls. The dried fish is nice and tender, the vegetables and herbs adding a decent amount of flavour, the biggest complaint was that it was a bit over salted but not surprising considering the meat used. Everyone also gets a bit of fresh, well baked that day, bread to enjoy with their stew.

"We will be heading into the hole tomorrow, I've looked into it a bit. The squeeze is tight but after you go in a few feet it opens up a bit. Not as much clearance as I would like but Clair will be able to stand at her full height with little trouble." He had to stoop but he wasn't really built for caves.

Gareth eagerly ate the stew and complemented the sailor. He didn't mind the salt. It would make him feel warm. The notion of not having to go down into the cave tonight made him feel better too. It sounded less dangerous in full day light. The only thing he was sulky about was the notion of having to sleep out in a tent. But he nodded quietly at Quentin's explanation.
