Pork Pies [Streets, Yards, and Homes] - Zechariah Meijer - 05-29-2020 Zechariah had not intended to visit Uriel. He was a blundering young man instead of a blundering little boy now, and if Uriel needed the room to make mistakes to learn from - so be it. Besides, that American was a little much. He supposed most pregnant women were - and unwed redheads even moreso. Oh! He hoped that Ward was suffering in matrimony. A smell piqued his nose as his carriage rode past. Familiar. Goyish. Probably Uriel's neighbor. "Slow down," Zechariah called to the cabby, eyes fixed suspiciously on Uriel's house. The smell grew stronger as they passed, and then faded as it receded. "Turn around." Moments later, there was a smart rap at the door. RE: Pork Pies - Kitty Meijer Calamity - 06-06-2020 A moment after the knock sounded, the door opened. Kitty rose a brow and stared at Zechariah. Her lips curled into a pleased smile. "I didn't expect ya back so soon. To what do I owe the pleasure of yer comin on over?" She folded her arms, letting them rest on her full belly as she leaned against the door frame. "I'm sure Uriel'll be happy ta see ya." She glanced back but then at him again, not quick to call him over to greet his brother. "Want ta come in? It might not be clean ta yer standards.' RE: Pork Pies - Uriel Meijer - 06-06-2020 Uriel was busy in the kitchen, singing as was his wont to do when cooking. He pulled the food from the oven and set it on the table to cool when he heard the rapping upon the door and his fiance opening said portal to someone. He didn't know it was Zech, so he walked out of the kitchen and toward the door with a welcoming smile upon his face... a smile that fell the moment his eyes landed on the cantankerous face of his older sibling. "Oh, it's you," he said. "Hello, Zecheriah, what brings you to our humble abode?" He gestured politely and lamely for Zech to come in, but Uriel was clearly not thrilled to see him. |
