RE: This Can Only Go Wrong - Harry Longbottom - 04-28-2020

Harry drank quietly, glad someone agreed with him

The fishermen in the corner were staring and muttering among themselves.

Anthony absolutely did not like the fact that there were people staring at them. He looked away, just shut the hell up and got very quiet, trying to get as little attention as possible. Just when he started to get a bit comfortable here, this kind of shit happens. The universe truly is against him.

Yes it was.

Harry followed Anthony's gaze and noticed Ben and his friends staring at them. "What are ye lookin' at, eh?!" he shouted across the pub.

Anthony flinched at his shouting and just stared into his glass, trying very hard to make it seem like he is not acquainted with Harry in any way. It was not working, though, no matter how hard he tried, so he just took another sip from his glass. This was hell on earth, actually.

Luckily for Anthony, the fishermen did not respond. "Yeah! Mind yer own!" Harry shouted at them. He whistled between his teeth and then turned back to Anthony. "They're a bunch of arrogant gits," he commented, because clearly the other man wanted to be involved in this.

Anthony nodded very slowly. "Yeah, I'm...sure they are. Arrogant gits, or whatever," he repeated. He didn't want to bring any more attention to himself by disagreeing with the man, so he just decided to politely agree. "that's....just how fishermen are, I guess."

"Some of them, for sure," he said. And then... it all got worse. Harry turned round, back to the fisherman. "'E says yer all arrogant gits!" he shouted.

Just when he thinks that maybe they've all calmed down a bit, something like this happens. Anthony just exhaled slowly in exasperation, taking another sip from his glass and trying not to go insane. "Maybe you shouldn't........" he got real quiet, "nevermind. Whatever, sure, they're arrogant gits." He just gave up

One of the fishermen stood up, but Ben and the other pulled him back down. "Just so ye know!" Harry shouted.

"Gentlemen... I would like to ask ye to leave, please...." The bartender said to Harry and Anthony.

"I ain't finished me beer, mate!" Harry retorted.

This was actually, genuinely hell on earth. Anthony wasn't sure whether to be pleased or embarrased by literally being asked to leave by the actual bartender, but if anything, he was glad to finally have an excuse to leave. "What? Yeah, okay, yeah, I can leave. I will leave. Yeah," he said, finishing off his drink and trying to get ready to leave. He looked to Harry: "then....finish it." Anthony didn't want to stay here any longer than he had to.
