Darius rose his brow at the boy. "Make sure you take care of her. Doctor says she's overworked and not sleeping or eating enough."

"Will, let's go." Alice said.

But Will looked at the man. "Did you take 'er to t' doctor?"

Darius frowned at him. "She collapsed, so I did. Though she's rather ungrateful for my help. Stupid woman even offered to give me the baby like I'd want it."

"I'm ungrateful for not naming my baby after your friend?" Alice asked. She shook her head. "You can't buy baby names."

That caught Will's attention. "I'll sell me future babies' names, ser," he offered.

Darius frowned and sighed. He patted the man's shoulder. "You are a far better man than her. Fine. I will transfer my wish onto you. Name your first son Christopher. Got it? I don't know why she's so difficult. It's a fair name."

For a moment, William glowed with pride when the gentleman called him a 'man'. Finally, someone who acknowledged that he was already a man. But his joy soon made way for disappointment. "Wait, you're not going to pay me for it?"

Alice rolled her eyes. "Look, I'm thankful for the help you offered, but you can't use that to bribe people into naming their kids after your friends."

Darius tsked, "Fine. How much? And you know if you agree and I find out you don't, I will come after you for the money and interest. It isn't a gift, it's conditional. " He held up a hand to Alice. "You don't get to talk now. You have already disappointed me.'
