RE: Strange thing, mystifying - Anthony Rowe - 01-25-2020

As it happens, Anthony was still a very light sleeper and basically woke up as soon as he heard footsteps near him. "Yeah?" he said in a tired voice, sitting up and immediately starting to fix and tame his hair which was surely a mess now.

Elijah smiled when he saw his bed head. "Take your time. There's no rush for anything today." He patted his shoulder and went to the kitchen to cook. He was making some oatmeal and the last of his bacon. He reminded himself to get more supplies in town that day.

That answered none of Anthony's questions but it's fine. Anthony nodded as Elijah spoke and then went to the kitchen again, with he himself going to wash up and change as soon as he deemed his hair to be presentable enough. Today felt as if it was going to be good, but now that he'd woken up and was lucid enough to actually think, he was...nervous. Both about the day itself and a thought he had that he may or may not act upon. Hmm. Anthony decided to not think of any of that right now, instead returning back to where he was before, humming a tune.

Elijah could head the humming where he was in the kitchen. He wanted to say something, but he was worried it would make Anthony stop. Instead, the man just smiled as he focused on the task at hand. Soon poking his head in at him. "Do you have a drink preference this morning?"

Anthony glanced at Elijah as the latter appeared again, stopping his humming for a moment. "Not really," he shook his head as if to get the point better across, waiting to see if there's anything else Elijah wanted of him. Not that he would mind, really.

Elijah gave a nod as he left him alone again. Tea it was then. He listened intently, hoping the humming would resume as he quietly made their tea and finish the food.

With that, Anthony turned back to what he was doing before (that is to say, absolutely nothing), resuming his humming which slowly turned into him quietly and absent-mindedly singing to himself.

It wasn't long before food was ready but Elijah didn't brig it in at first. He leaned against the doorframe and listened. He only came in when he worried that things would start getting cold.

Anthony kept singing, not noticing Elijah until he finally came in with the food. As soon as he returned, Anthony stopped singing, looking at Elijah, flashing a brief smile at him and nodding in a silent greeting as he did so. So! Breakfast, then.

Elijah put down the food but didn't take his eyes off of him until he gained the courage to speak. "Ah.. don't .. I mean.. you don't have to stop humming or singing if you don't want to. I.. I really liked what I heard."
