Saoirse nodded. "It was kind of my fault," she repeated. "which is why I said that."

The child nodded. He looked up at her. "Maybe we should flee the country."

"That's a bit extreme," she said, looking down at him. But she was kind of curious as to how this child would flee the country. She can't imagine a literal child to be very good at that.

"But if they catch us they hang us," the boy argued. "We could sneak onto a ship and go to sea and become pirates."

Saoirse nodded. "Even if we did manage to sneak our way on a ship, neither of us can sail. That's a problem."
